What's Happening?
EV Resources has reported successful flotation test work on third-party ore, achieving 81.1% antimony recovery and producing a concentrate grading 42.4% antimony. This marks a significant improvement over previous methods, nearly tripling recovery rates
compared to gravity concentration alone. The results validate a flotation-led processing route for the company's Tecomatlán Processing Plant in Mexico. The company plans to implement this integrated flotation upgrade path, expecting first production within 10-12 months. The flotation circuit demonstrated excellent selectivity, rejecting a high percentage of silica gangue.
Why It's Important?
The successful flotation test results are crucial for EV Resources as they enhance the company's processing capabilities and position it to address global antimony supply constraints. Antimony is a critical mineral used in various industrial applications, including flame retardants and batteries. The improved recovery rates and concentrate quality could provide EV Resources with a competitive advantage in the market. Additionally, the company's strategy to establish Tecomatlán as a regional processing hub could strengthen its supply chain and support its growth objectives.
What's Next?
EV Resources plans to proceed with environmental permitting to support the implementation of the flotation circuit. The permitting process is expected to take approximately seven months and will run concurrently with plant refurbishment activities. The company aims to utilize existing flotation cells and additional high-efficiency tank cells, minimizing incremental capital expenditure. As the project progresses, EV Resources will continue to explore opportunities to optimize its processing operations and expand its market presence.
