funded from cash on hand. Tai, headquartered in California, offers an AI-powered transportation management platform that orchestrates the entire shipment lifecycle for freight brokers. This platform unifies quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing, and customer engagement across various operations including truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), drayage, and cross-border shipments. According to Andrew Wimer, Associate General Manager - Transportation Management at Descartes, this acquisition expands Descartes' transportation management capabilities for freight brokers and integrates valuable transaction, carrier, and shipment execution data into the Descartes Global Logistics Network. Edward J. Ryan, CEO of Descartes, highlighted that Tai complements Descartes' existing strengths in carrier onboarding, compliance, fraud prevention, and real-time visibility, aiming to help freight brokers streamline operations and improve decision-making.
