Sila, a U.S.-based startup, has received a $1.4 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Defense to expand its production of silicon-carbon battery material. This development comes as U.S. companies face

Sila's factory in Moses Lake, Washington, is one of the few domestic sources for anode material, which is crucial for lithium-ion batteries.
