7.3 kernel will begin incorporating patches to support the Intel Starfire SoC, marking the first steps in integrating this technology into the Linux ecosystem. The Starfire SoC is manufactured in the USA and is expected to start shipping engineering samples this quarter. The initial patch for Starfire has been added to the Error Detection And Correction (EDAC) subsystem's edac-for-next Git branch, which will facilitate error detection and correction handling by reusing existing code paths from the Panther Lake architecture.
