Entergy Mississippi has committed $20,000 in STEM scholarships to four students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and partner institutions across Mississippi. This initiative is part of Entergy’s broader $20 Million Power
of Prosperity program, which aims to support HBCUs and minority-serving institutions throughout the Gulf South region. The scholarships are specifically for students pursuing degrees in high-demand fields such as computer science, information technology, engineering, and related disciplines that are critical for the evolving energy workforce. In addition to scholarships, the Power of Prosperity initiative includes pillars such as workforce development, student internships, mentoring, faculty externships, generational wealth-building, and competitive facility grants. The program will also provide up to $1 million in funding this year for accredited HBCUs and Minority Serving Institutions in Entergy’s service area to upgrade classrooms, labs, and equipment.
