V-Color has launched new 1+1 DDR5 memory kits, which include one functional DDR5 RAM stick and one non-functional RGB dummy module. These kits, such as the Manta XSky version, are designed to give the appearance of a dual-stick memory configuration in a system,
even though only one module contains actual DRAM. The active DIMM in the Manta XSky kit is a 16GB DDR5-6000 CL28 module, operating at 6000 MT/s with CL28-36-36-96 timings at 1.4V, and supports AMD EXPO. The accompanying dummy module is purely for aesthetic purposes, featuring RGB lighting but no usable memory. This means that despite occupying two DIMM slots, the system will operate as a 16GB single-channel configuration. The concept was initially announced in March, with V-Color positioning it as a more affordable entry point for Ryzen systems, allowing users to potentially upgrade to a second functional module later.
