Empower AI, a federal IT services provider, has acquired Highlight Technologies to expand its technology delivery and artificial intelligence offerings. Highlight, an employee-owned company established in 2008, specializes in data and digital transformation
support for agencies. The acquisition aims to accelerate Empower AI's AI accelerator portfolio, focusing on interoperability and faster deployments. Highlight has generated $13.2 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the past year, with a significant portion from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This acquisition marks Empower AI's first transaction since KKR became its majority owner in 2022 and the first under CEO Jeff Bohling, who joined in early 2023.
