What's Happening?
Berkeley City College (BCC) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) have initiated the Boosting Employment Readiness in Quantum (BERQ) program. This three-week summer initiative aims to introduce community college students to quantum information
science and technology, preparing them for careers in this emerging field. The program includes expert-led lectures, hands-on laboratory work, and career panels, alongside mentoring sessions to help students plan their future in STEM fields. The initiative also involves site visits to prominent quantum technology partners and national labs, providing students with industry insights and networking opportunities.
