What's Happening?
Ameyalli has commenced Phase 2 of its development, introducing a new resort and residential community in Midway, Utah. This phase includes the Ameyalli Resort & Spa by Appellation, an 80-key boutique hotel, and 23 whole-ownership Villa Residences. The
resort, designed by Overland Partners and EDG, features two restaurants by Michelin-starred chef Charlie Palmer and a 20,000-square-foot spa utilizing natural geothermal springs. The development aims to blend culinary excellence with wellness, offering a unique hospitality experience. The Villa Residences, designed for whole ownership, provide access to all resort amenities and can be included in a rental program. The project is set in a 78-acre area, with over half preserved for conservation, highlighting the natural beauty of the region.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Ameyalli Resort signifies a growing trend in luxury and wellness tourism, particularly in Utah's scenic landscapes. This development not only enhances the local economy by attracting tourists but also creates job opportunities in hospitality and construction. The focus on sustainability and conservation aligns with increasing consumer demand for eco-friendly travel options. The integration of local culture and natural resources into the resort's offerings could set a precedent for future developments in the region, promoting a model that respects and preserves the environment while providing high-end amenities.
What's Next?
As the project progresses, the next 24 months will be crucial for the completion of the Villa Residences and the full operational launch of the resort. The development team will likely focus on marketing the unique features of the resort, such as its geothermal spa and culinary offerings, to attract a global clientele. The involvement of local adventure company Adventourage suggests potential collaborations to enhance guest experiences with outdoor activities. The success of this phase could influence further expansions or similar projects in the area, potentially increasing Midway's reputation as a luxury travel destination.
