What's Happening?
John Wood Community College (JWCC) held a ceremony to celebrate eight students entering the Great River Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. This initiative, part of a national effort, combines classroom learning with hands-on
experience in the manufacturing industry. Students signed letters of intent with regional employers, including ADM, DOT Foods, and Titan International, committing to work three days a week while attending classes two days a week. The program aims to equip students with skills in manufacturing principles, automation, and robotics, leading to an Associate in Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

The Great River FAME program addresses the growing demand for skilled manufacturing technicians in the U.S. By integrating academic learning with practical experience, the program helps bridge the skills gap in the manufacturing sector.
