Moldtelecom, Moldova’s national telecommunications operator, has successfully completed a network optimization project in collaboration with Kenmei, an intelligent operations provider. The initiative focused on improving the performance of Moldtelecom's
4G LTE network and the initial optimization of its 5G NSA C-band network. This project built upon previous collaborations between the two companies. Key areas addressed included LTE multi-band and carrier aggregation performance, mobility, load balancing, and the interaction between 4G and 5G layers. Initial VoLTE tuning was also performed, and specific cells that were hindering overall performance were identified and addressed. Kenmei utilized Moldtelecom's network data to analyze configurations and performance, providing recommendations that were then reviewed and implemented by Moldtelecom's engineering team. Post-implementation measurements confirmed the positive impact of these changes. For instance, underperforming cells saw handover success rates improve significantly, from 14% to 91%, with overall handover success between sites and frequencies stabilizing at 99.9%.
