The Friends of Marblehead Basketball, a volunteer booster group, is organizing a 'Rock the Court' fundraiser on November 20 to support the Marblehead High School boys' and girls' basketball programs. The event, taking place at Gerry 5, will feature live
music, a silent auction, light bites, and a cash bar, with admission by donation at the door. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards scholarships for Marblehead High School seniors, new equipment such as a shooting machine and backboards, and funding for youth basketball nights, holiday clinics, and community events. Since its establishment in 2022, the 501(c)(3) organization has awarded over 25 scholarships, contributed to gym equipment, and supported Move4Heather DFCI fundraisers, raising more than $25,000. The group also covers expenses for team activities, varsity trips, and senior celebrations. The Marblehead High School boys' varsity team is scheduled to play at the Boston Garden on January 9 in the Andrew James Lawson Foundation Invitational.
