Stonepeak has invested $2.4 billion to acquire a 25% stake in United Ports, while CMA CGM retains a 75% ownership and full operational control. The joint venture aims to accelerate investments in port infrastructure, including capacity expansions, acquisition of cargo-handling equipment, and enhanced logistics connectivity. The companies plan to expand this portfolio further, pending regulatory approvals.
Why It's Important?

The investment also highlights the strategic importance of port infrastructure in facilitating global commerce and the potential for economic growth in regions hosting these terminals.
