Micron has officially opened a 60,000-square-foot Micron Training Center (MTC) in Boise, Idaho. This new facility is a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the skilled talent pipeline for advanced semiconductor manufacturing and expanding educational
and apprenticeship pathways within the state. Located near Micron's main Boise campus, the MTC will provide new hires with an onboarding boot camp and hands-on training in fab operations and manufacturing systems. The center will also serve as a resource for community college students and career seekers pursuing semiconductor-related fields through a partnership with the College of Western Idaho (CWI). Micron and the U.S. Department of Commerce have jointly contributed $3 million to CWI to support educator pay, equipment, and classroom space, facilitating this crucial collaboration. The MTC is equipped with up to 20 semiconductor process tools that replicate a real fab environment, allowing trainees to work with the same equipment they will encounter on Micron's manufacturing floor.
