Engineers at the University of California San Diego have developed a smart ring capable of monitoring up to four chemical biomarkers from finger sweat simultaneously. The ring can track glucose, ketones,
vitamin C, uric acid, lactate, and alcohol. It uses an osmotic hydrogel to draw sweat painlessly and an electrochemical sensor array for analysis. The ring's data is sent wirelessly to a smartphone app, providing personalized health insights. The device is powered by a flexible zinc-silver oxide rechargeable battery, offering up to 12 hours of operation.
