What's Happening?
The Sacramento Kings have secured the services of forward Precious Achiuwa for another two years. Achiuwa, who joined the Kings in November 2025, has agreed to a two-year contract worth $11.5 million. During the 2025-26 NBA season, Achiuwa delivered a career-high
performance, averaging 10.1 points and 6.7 rebounds over 73 games. Originally drafted by the Miami Heat in 2020, Achiuwa was traded to the Toronto Raptors and later to the New York Knicks before landing in Sacramento. His consistent performance has made him a valuable asset for the Kings as they look to build on their roster for the upcoming seasons.
Why It's Important?
Achiuwa's re-signing is significant for the Kings as it ensures continuity and stability in their lineup. His performance last season demonstrated his potential to contribute significantly to the team's success. For the Kings, retaining a player who has shown growth and adaptability is crucial as they aim to improve their standings in the competitive Western Conference. This move also reflects the team's strategy to invest in players who can develop within their system, potentially leading to better team cohesion and performance in future seasons.
