What's Happening?
A new Mediterranean-style restaurant, 'By the Sea', is set to open on Coronado's Orange Avenue. Developed by Black Swan Hospitality, the restaurant occupies a 6,500-square-foot space above the Tavern restaurant. The venue replaces the former Boardwalk
Beach Club, which closed shortly after opening in 2019. The new restaurant features a light-filled design inspired by the French Riviera, Greek Isles, and the Amalfi Coast, with materials like European cobblestone and limestone. The menu includes Mediterranean dishes such as mezze platters and whole grilled branzino. The opening is scheduled for August 12, following a $6 million renovation.
Why It's Important?
The opening of 'By the Sea' marks a significant development in Coronado's dining scene, which has been evolving with new and diverse culinary offerings. This addition is expected to attract both locals and tourists, enhancing the area's appeal as a dining destination. The investment in transforming the space reflects a broader trend of revitalizing local businesses post-pandemic. For the local economy, this restaurant could create jobs and stimulate economic activity. Additionally, it highlights the growing interest in Mediterranean cuisine, which is known for its health benefits and diverse flavors.
