The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has officially recognized the Al Gharafa Beach Volleyball Training Centre in Doha, Qatar, as an International Centre of Excellence for Beach Volleyball. This designation follows the signing of a Memorandum
of Understanding between the FIVB and the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) at the Qatar Olympic Academy. The Al Gharafa facility will now join a global network aimed at providing high-performance development opportunities for athletes, coaches, and national federations worldwide. The center's programs will encompass athlete and youth development, coach education, technical cooperation, international training camps, and knowledge exchange. It features five beach volleyball courts, along with athlete recovery and support services, and access to specialized technical and high-performance personnel. This move reinforces Qatar's growing prominence in international beach volleyball, building on its competitive achievements and its experience hosting major international tournaments.
