What's Happening?
The Tampa Bay Lightning recently hosted the sixth annual Hockey Heals 22 tournament at AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel. The event, organized by the Lightning Warriors, a charitable organization under the Tampa Bay Lightning umbrella, raised nearly
$100,000 to support veteran mental health and suicide prevention. The tournament featured 22 hours of nonstop hockey games, involving Lightning alumni and local sports personalities. The funds raised will benefit Operation Healing Forces and the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club, both of which provide support and activities for veterans. The event aims to raise awareness of the 22 veteran suicides that occur daily and to offer resources to help veterans choose alternative paths.
