What's Happening?
Doxa has introduced the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler Edition, a special edition watch commemorating the late adventure author Clive Cussler's 95th birthday. This new model features a full Grade 5 titanium case, marking the first time this material has been
used in the SUB 300 range. The watch measures 42.5mm in width and 13.5mm in thickness, offering a robust yet lightweight design suitable for diving, with a water resistance of 300 meters. The dial employs a layered construction, similar to a sandwich dial, enhancing its three-dimensional appearance and legibility. The watch is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, a COSC-certified chronometer, ensuring high reliability. Limited to 300 pieces, the watch is priced at approximately $3,390 and is available through Doxa's authorized retailers and directly from the company.
Why It's Important?
The release of the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler Edition highlights Doxa's commitment to innovation and tribute to Clive Cussler, a significant figure in adventure literature. The use of titanium not only enhances the watch's durability and wearability but also aligns with the needs of professional divers. The limited edition nature of the watch, coupled with its unique design elements, is likely to attract collectors and enthusiasts, boosting Doxa's brand prestige. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds supports the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), reflecting a blend of commercial success and philanthropic effort.
What's Next?
With the strong demand for the Clive Cussler series, Doxa may continue to explore further collaborations or special editions that celebrate historical figures or events. The expansion of sales through authorized retailers suggests a strategic move to increase accessibility and brand visibility. Collectors and fans of Clive Cussler might anticipate future releases that continue to honor his legacy, potentially driving further interest and sales in the luxury watch market.
