The Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) has reported that U.S.-based travel agency air ticket sales reached a record $58.8 billion from January through June 2026. This marks a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The total number of passenger
trips also rose by 4%, with U.S. domestic trips increasing by 4% and international trips by 3%. The average ticket price saw a 13% rise, reaching $614. June 2026 alone saw air ticket sales of $9 billion, a 19% increase from June 2025, with total passenger trips reaching 24.2 million, a 4% increase from the previous year. Steve Solomon, ARC's Chief Commercial Officer, noted that the growth in both domestic and international trips indicates that air travel remains a priority for travelers, who are adjusting to higher ticket prices.
