What's Happening?
Hsg, an international venture capital and private equity firm, has acquired a majority stake in Golden Goose Group, a luxury brand known for its Italian heritage and innovative direct-to-consumer model. This acquisition marks a new phase in Golden Goose's
global growth strategy, with Hsg joining existing investors Temasek and Permira. The company has seen significant revenue growth, increasing from 266 million in 2020 to 734 million in 2025. The first quarter of 2026 reported a 10% year-over-year revenue increase to 173.2 million. Golden Goose plans to leverage Hsg's global presence to accelerate its international expansion and innovation, while maintaining its made-in-Italy roots. Silvio Campara will continue as CEO, and Marco Bizzarri has been appointed as non-executive chairman.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition by Hsg is significant as it positions Golden Goose for further international expansion and innovation in the luxury market. The involvement of major investors like Temasek and Permira underscores the brand's potential for growth and its appeal in the global luxury sector. This move could enhance Golden Goose's market presence, particularly in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, where it already has a strong store network. The focus on a direct-to-consumer model aligns with current retail trends, potentially increasing profitability and customer engagement. The strategic partnership with Hsg may also bring new opportunities for innovation and brand development, benefiting stakeholders and consumers alike.
What's Next?
Golden Goose is expected to continue its expansion into new markets, supported by Hsg's expertise in global brand development. The company aims to strengthen its direct-to-consumer model and enhance its brand resonance at the intersection of luxury, lifestyle, and sportswear. This strategic direction may involve opening new stores, enhancing online platforms, and exploring new product lines. The leadership team, under CEO Silvio Campara, will likely focus on maintaining the brand's Italian heritage while pursuing innovative growth strategies. Stakeholders will be watching how these developments impact Golden Goose's market position and financial performance in the coming years.
