The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) in South Korea has issued new guidelines requiring insurers to provide advance notice to consumers about changes in claim review standards. This move aims to enhance transparency and protect consumers from unexpected

Insurers must notify policyholders through at least two channels, such as app notifications and website disclosures, detailing the basis, intent, and effective date of the changes. The guidelines exempt changes that favor consumers or prevent fraud. Insurers are also required to maintain a three-day gap between notifying customers and implementing changes.
