Lantronix Inc., a provider of Edge AI and Industrial IoT solutions, has partnered with Swarmer, Inc., a drone autonomy software company, to create a custom compute platform optimized for Group 1 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This collaboration aims to enhance
the deployment of small, low-cost drones for defense programs in Ukraine, the U.S., and allied nations. Swarmer's software, which has been used in over 100,000 combat missions in Ukraine, allows a single operator to manage hundreds of drones. The new platform, based on Lantronix's Open-Q 6490CS System-on-Module, will increase processing power and support advanced AI capabilities, enabling more sophisticated drone operations.
