Visa has announced the launch of the Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP), a new enterprise platform aimed at providing financial institutions, fintechs, and crypto-native companies with access to stablecoin capabilities. The platform offers onchain wallet
infrastructure and connectivity for minting and burning stablecoins, starting with Open USD (OUSD). VSP is designed to be interoperable with Visa's existing stablecoin offerings, including stablecoin settlement and stablecoin-linked cards. Initially available for beta testing with select clients, the platform aims to simplify the process of accessing, storing, and redeeming stablecoins, thereby integrating them into Visa's global network.
