What's Happening?
CrossFit Linchpin, a training platform founded by veteran CrossFit coach Pat Sherwood, has introduced a new workout designed to build explosive power and strength. The workout pairs power cleans with box jumps, challenging participants to complete 110
total reps against the clock. The goal is to finish the workout in under 10 minutes while maintaining proper form. This workout emphasizes explosive hip extension and coordination, requiring participants to maintain their explosiveness as fatigue sets in. The workout is structured to start with 10 reps of each movement, decreasing by one rep each round until reaching one rep per movement.
Why It's Important?
This workout is significant as it provides a structured approach to building full-body power without the need for high-tech facilities. It focuses on fundamental movements that recruit multiple muscle groups, including the glutes, hamstrings, quads, back, and shoulders. By emphasizing explosive movements, the workout helps improve athletic performance in activities that require speed and power, such as sprinting and jumping. Additionally, the workout's simplicity and efficiency make it accessible to a wide range of fitness enthusiasts, promoting sustainable fitness practices.
