A study conducted by sports researchers in Malaysia suggests that sniffing chocolate can enhance gym performance, particularly during leg exercises. The research involved 23 young men who were divided into three groups: one group sniffed dark chocolate,
another sniffed milk chocolate, and the third sniffed water. The results showed that those who sniffed dark chocolate were able to perform 18 more reps, while those who sniffed milk chocolate performed nine more reps. The study indicates that the scent of chocolate can create a psychological shift in appetite, leading to improved performance without the need for actual consumption.
