What's Happening?
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Men's Golf team has been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year. The team received the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award,
which honors programs that maintain a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, UAB was among 88 NCAA Division I programs to earn the GCAA Presidents Special Recognition for achieving a team GPA of at least 3.5. This recognition is part of a record 331 programs across six collegiate divisions that were acknowledged for their academic excellence. Earlier in the summer, the team also received the NCAA Team Academic Excellence Award for posting a 3.34 cumulative team GPA. Seven student-athletes from the team were named to the American Conference All-Academic Team, which requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 while competing in conference championship-eligible sports.
