Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is preparing to host the second edition of the Games of the Sahel Alliance (JAES) from September 7 to 16, 2026. The event will bring together approximately 540 athletes and officials from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. These
participants, comprising 376 athletes and 164 coaches and officials, will compete in eleven sports disciplines. The disciplines include athletics, boxing, cycling, football, handball, judo, karate, kung-fu wushu, wrestling, taekwondo, and archery. Various venues across the capital, such as the Stade du 4-Août, the Palais des Sports de Ouaga 2000, and the CNOSB martial arts hall, will host the competitions. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for September 8 at the Palais des Sports de Ouaga 2000. Authorities have confirmed reinforced security measures and logistical arrangements for the delegations' arrival, accommodation, and movement.
