The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) has announced that its 61st Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference, #NAREE2027, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Austin from June 21 to June 24, 2027. The conference is scheduled to begin

Why It's Important?
The NAREE Annual Conference serves as a significant gathering for real estate journalists and industry professionals, fostering networking, knowledge sharing, and discussions on critical trends in the real estate sector. By bringing together journalists, industry leaders, and experts, the conference facilitates the dissemination of accurate and insightful information about the real estate market. This is crucial for maintaining transparency and informing the public and stakeholders about market dynamics, policy changes, and investment opportunities. The event's focus on journalism also underscores the role of media in shaping public perception and understanding of real estate, which can influence investment decisions, housing policies, and overall economic stability. The selection of Austin, Texas, as the host city also highlights its growing prominence as a real estate market and a hub for business and innovation.
What's Next?
Prospective attendees for the NAREE 2027 conference, including journalists and industry associates, will need to follow specific registration procedures. Journalists must pay their 2027 NAREE dues or enter the 2027 contest between February 1 and March 1, 2027, before registering for the conference and agreeing to the Code of Conduct. They will also need to contact mdkimball@naree.org for hotel reservation links and codes. Industry associates have a separate registration process, which includes paying membership dues and registering for the conference in one step, agreeing to the Code of Conduct, and making hotel reservations, with an additional fee for staying outside the NAREE hotel block. Speakers and Jewel Sponsors have distinct registration processes.
Beyond the Headlines
The NAREE Annual Conference plays a vital role in shaping the narrative around real estate, influencing how market trends, challenges, and opportunities are communicated to a broader audience. The discussions and insights shared at such events can indirectly impact public policy, investment strategies, and consumer behavior in the real estate sector. By providing a platform for journalists to engage with industry leaders, the conference helps ensure that reporting on real estate is well-informed and nuanced. This interaction can lead to more comprehensive coverage of complex issues, from housing affordability to commercial development, ultimately contributing to a more informed public discourse and potentially influencing the direction of the U.S. real estate market.
