Anthro Energy has commenced construction of its inaugural commercial electrolyte factory in Kentucky. This new facility is projected to produce up to 12,000 tonnes of polymer electrolyte annually, with operations slated to begin in late 2027. Concurrently,
Electrovaya has initiated Factory Acceptance Testing for its automated lithium-ion cell assembly and formation equipment, preparing for its cell manufacturing facility in Jamestown, New York. These developments are part of a broader effort to bolster domestic battery production and critical mineral processing within the United States. The U.S. Department of Energy has also allocated $500 million to seven critical minerals and battery projects, including a significant $100 million grant to Nth Cycle for a black mass processing facility in the southeastern U.S. Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. is also contributing to this ecosystem by refining black mass into pCAM and manufacturing finished rare earth permanent magnets.
