The Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) in Reno has launched Street Heat, a new event rivaling the long-standing Hot August Nights classic car festival. Street Heat, which runs from August 5 to 8, is not affiliated with Hot August Nights but offers a similar experience
with classic cars, live music, and food vendors. The event features a $10,000 Cherry Show-n-Shine competition and a Best of Show round. The GSR, previously a main site for Hot August Nights, decided to host its own event after Hot August Nights moved its main venue to downtown Reno. The response to Street Heat has been strong, with sold-out vehicle registrations and high enthusiasm from participants.
