Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) and Solarpro have signed a strategic agreement to develop a 2 GWh sodium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS) in Central and Eastern Europe. This partnership aims to deploy large-scale sodium-ion storage projects,
marking a significant step in the commercialization of sodium-ion technology in the region. The agreement highlights the potential of sodium-ion batteries as a viable alternative to lithium-ion technology, offering advantages such as long cycle life and performance in low temperatures.
