Mike O'Neill is currently in his 13th season as the head coach of Rutgers women's soccer, marking his 27th season overall with the program. Under his leadership, the Scarlet Knights have achieved significant national recognition, securing NCAA Tournament
appearances in 11 of his 12 seasons as head coach and reaching the College Cup twice, in 2015 and 2021. O'Neill, who previously served as the associate head coach from 2004-2013, boasts a career record of 151-56-45. In 2021, he was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year after guiding Rutgers to its first Big Ten title, achieving a perfect 10-0 record in conference play. This marked the first time since 2005 that a Big Ten team completed an undefeated and untied conference season. The team's success in 2021 also saw them advance to the College Cup for the second time and set numerous program records for wins, goals, assists, and points, culminating in a No. 3 national ranking.
