What's Happening?
SMACPAC Ambassadors have been actively engaging with lawmakers from both political parties throughout the summer of 2026. Their efforts are focused on building relationships that benefit contractors across the United States. The ambassadors have attended
various events, including a notable gathering at Disneyland hosted by Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA), which was attended by over a dozen lawmakers. These engagements are part of a broader strategy to strengthen ties with critical Congressional stakeholders. The events have seen participation from various members, including Chairman's Club Member Todd Bxybe, who attended a local event for Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL), and CIC Member Denise Murphy McGraw, who participated in a fundraiser for Rep. John Mannion (D-NY).
Why It's Important?
The efforts by SMACPAC Ambassadors to engage with lawmakers are crucial for the construction and contracting industries. By fostering relationships with key Congressional figures, the ambassadors aim to influence policy decisions that could impact contractors nationwide. These interactions provide a platform for discussing industry challenges and advocating for legislative support. The bipartisan nature of these engagements underscores the importance of collaboration across political lines to address industry needs. Strengthening these relationships can lead to more informed policy-making that considers the interests of contractors, potentially leading to favorable legislative outcomes.
