What's Happening?
The Columbus Blue Jackets have introduced a new initiative called CBJ Rush, aimed at providing affordable ticket options for high school and college students. The program offers discounted tickets for regular season home games, with prices set at $25
for Upper-Level and $35 for Lower-Level tickets from Sunday to Thursday, and slightly higher prices for weekend games. Students can purchase up to two tickets per valid student ID, and the tickets become available via text alerts on game days. This initiative is part of the team's efforts to engage younger fans and make attending games more accessible.
Why It's Important?
The CBJ Rush program is significant as it helps to cultivate a new generation of hockey fans by making games more accessible to students. By offering discounted tickets, the Blue Jackets are encouraging attendance among younger audiences, which can lead to increased fan loyalty and support for the team. This initiative also reflects a broader trend in sports marketing, where teams are actively seeking to engage with younger demographics to ensure long-term fan base growth. Additionally, the program can enhance the game-day atmosphere by attracting enthusiastic and energetic student fans.
