Valero Energy Corporation is offering Safety Engineering Internships for the summer of 2026 at various U.S. refining locations. The internship program is designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor's or higher degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Sciences,
or a related field, with a preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher. Interns will assist in implementing systems to meet safety regulations and performance standards for refinery production facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations under agencies like OSHA, TTB, FRA, EPA, and state DENR. Key responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of Emergency Action Plans (EAP), Integrated Contingency Plans (ICP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), and Risk Management Plans (RMP. Interns will also help maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) and Safe Work Practices (SWP). Positions are available at locations such as Wilmington, CA; Norco, LA; Meraux, LA; Memphis, TN; Port Arthur, TX; San Antonio, TX; and Sunray, TX.
