Mizna's Twin Cities Arab Film Festival is returning for its 20th edition, showcasing films that explore the past and present of Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) communities. The festival, themed 'Looking Forward, Looking Back,' will feature screenings

at The Main Cinema and the Walker Cinema. Co-programmers Michelle Baroody and Ahmed AbdulMageed, with support from Mizna's volunteer screening committee, reviewed approximately 150 submissions and sought additional titles from distributors, focusing on SWANA archival footage. Notable films include 'Do You Love Me,' which uses 70 years of film, television, home videos, and photography to narrate Lebanon's history, and 'With Hasan in Gaza,' a rediscovered 2001 footage by director Kamal Aljafari capturing everyday scenes in Gaza before recent destruction. The festival aims to highlight the importance of looking back at existing fragments and creating new archives to tell diverse stories. In addition to film screenings, the festival will host a music video bingo night and a closing reception.
