What's Happening?
Alpex Solar, a prominent manufacturer of solar PV modules and systems, has applied for the inclusion of its 2.2 GW TOPCon G12R Cell manufacturing unit in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II. This application has been submitted
to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in India. The company is preparing to commence commercial production at its new solar cell manufacturing plant located in Mathura by August 2026. The facility, which boasts a capacity of 2.2 GW, was constructed in a record time of 15 months. Alpex Solar has demonstrated significant growth, with strong financial performance in FY26, including an operating revenue of INR 2,223.27 Cr and an EBITDA of INR 327.39 Cr. The company is also planning to further its vertical integration by setting up an ingot and wafer manufacturing plant with a proposed capacity of 5 GW, expected to be operational by 2030.
