ONE Nuclear Energy LLC has secured site control for 'Project Cayman,' a significant energy development in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. This project will feature a 2.88 GW natural gas plant, a 700 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) with 2.88 GWh capacity,
and a co-located data center campus. The site is strategically located near Louisiana’s RiverPlex MegaPark and northeast of SpaceX’s expanding infrastructure. The natural gas plant is designed to provide dispatchable power, ensuring a consistent energy supply, while the battery system will store electricity and deliver it during peak demand or as needed. Community outreach for Project Cayman has already commenced, with public information meetings scheduled with local governmental agencies and other stakeholders from September through the end of the year. This initiative aims to bolster the region's energy infrastructure and support ongoing economic development.
