World Aquatics has confirmed a prize pool exceeding $2 million for the 2026 World Short Course Swimming Championships. The prize structure remains largely unchanged from 2024, with a notable increase in the 'Double Crown' bonus from $10,000 to $15,000.
This bonus is awarded to swimmers who win an event at all three stops of the World Cup Series and the World Championships. In 2024, eight Double Crowns were awarded, contributing to a total prize distribution of $2.8 million. Gretchen Walsh was the top earner, securing nearly $300,000. The 2026 Championships will be held in Beijing, China, from December 1-6, with the U.S. hosting a separate short course Trials meet for the first time.
