PMET Resources Inc. has announced successful results from two bench-scale testwork programs focused on extracting caesium from pollucite samples at the Shaakichiuwaanaan Project. The tests, conducted by SGS Canada and Koch Technology Solutions, demonstrated
a caesium recovery rate of over 97% using sulphuric acid leaching. The primary objective was to identify conditions for high caesium recovery while minimizing impurities. The programs also explored the potential recovery of rubidium as a by-product. PMET aims to produce high-purity caesium compounds, including Cs-sulphate and Cs-carbonate, as part of its strategy to maximize the value of its caesium resources. The Shaakichiuwaanaan Property hosts the world's largest pollucite-hosted caesium pegmatite mineral resource, with significant lithium and tantalum reserves.
