What's Happening?
Wildcat Resources has reported successful metallurgical test results from its Bolt Cutter Central lithium discovery in Western Australia. The tests demonstrated an average spodumene recovery of 82.5% with a product grade of 5.66% lithium oxide across
three composite samples. The test work used the same flotation method intended for the nearby Tabba Tabba Project. The results exceeded expectations, with the strongest recovery at 87.1% for a 5.94% lithium oxide concentrate. The discovery extends over 2.3 kilometers northwest and up to 800 meters northeast. Recent drilling has expanded the mineralized footprint, with notable lithium intersections reported.
Why It's Important?
The positive metallurgical results from Bolt Cutter Central are crucial for Wildcat Resources as they validate the project's potential for high-quality lithium production. This enhances the project's attractiveness to investors and supports the company's strategic plans for development. The high recovery rates and product grades indicate that the project could be economically viable, which is significant given the growing demand for lithium in battery production. The results also provide a strong foundation for future resource modeling and estimation, which are essential for advancing the project towards production.
What's Next?
Wildcat Resources plans to complete resource modeling and release a mineral resource estimate in the September quarter. The company will continue drilling to further define the extent of the mineralization and improve resource estimates. With a cash balance of $43.3 million, Wildcat is well-positioned to advance its exploration and development activities. The company will likely focus on optimizing its processing techniques and expanding its exploration efforts to maximize the project's potential.
