Bank of America has announced its plan to acquire MDSec Consulting Limited, a UK-based information security consultancy. MDSec, headquartered in Macclesfield, England, provides technical information security consulting services and employs approximately
65 cybersecurity professionals. This acquisition will enhance Bank of America's existing operations in northern England, where it already has a significant presence with over 1,400 employees in Chester, including a cyber threat operations center. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Bank of America's Chief Information Security Officer, Kris Fador, expressed admiration for MDSec's capabilities, while MDSec co-founder Dominic Chell highlighted the opportunity to advance security capabilities and technical innovation through this partnership.
