Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) has announced plans to celebrate the 30th season of Washington Capitals broadcasters Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin. This duo is recognized as the NHL’s longest-tenured active television broadcast pair. The celebration
coincides with the network's unveiling of its coverage plans for the 2026-27 Capitals season. Beninati and Laughlin began their full-time partnership in the Capitals broadcast booth on October 5, 1996, and have since called over 2,000 games together. Their tenure has covered significant moments in franchise history, including the Capitals’ 1998 Stanley Cup Final run, the 2017-18 Stanley Cup championship season, and Alex Ovechkin’s pursuit and achievement of the NHL’s all-time goals record. Both broadcasters were recently named 2026 Silver Circle Honorees by The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
