Scott will officially begin her role at DMI on October 12. Concurrently, Midwest Dairy has appointed Beth Bruck-Upton as its interim CEO, also effective October 12. At DMI, Scott will oversee more than 150 employees and the National Dairy Council, with the checkoff funded by over 23,000 dairy farmers and dairy importers. She will also serve as president and CEO of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.
Why It's Important?
Corey Scott's appointment to lead Dairy Management Inc. is a significant development for the U.S. dairy industry. DMI plays a crucial role in promoting dairy products and supporting dairy farmers nationwide through the national dairy checkoff program. Her leadership will influence the strategic direction of dairy promotion, research, and innovation efforts, impacting the demand for dairy products and the economic well-being of thousands of dairy farmers. Scott's extensive background, including over 15 years in leadership roles at Land O'Lakes and her recent tenure at Midwest Dairy, brings valuable experience in agricultural business and marketing to this national position. Her focus on reorganizing and narrowing consumer work at Midwest Dairy suggests a strategic approach that could enhance the effectiveness of DMI's initiatives.
