What's Happening?
Liquid C2, a business unit of Cassava Technologies, has announced a new reseller partnership agreement with KnowBe4, a global leader in digital workforce security. This collaboration aims to deliver KnowBe4’s training and risk management solutions to enterprise
customers across Africa. The partnership integrates KnowBe4’s platform into Liquid C2’s Secure360 portfolio, which already encompasses governance, protection, detection, and response capabilities. KnowBe4’s offerings include ongoing security awareness training, phishing simulations, and risk management tools, designed to address employee-related security risks. Vinay Hiralall, Chief Commercial Officer at Liquid C2, emphasized that employees are the primary defense against cyberattacks and that this partnership strengthens the human element of their cybersecurity services. The KnowBe4 platform also features attack simulation and training, email and collaboration security, and agent security powered by its Artificial Intelligence Defence Agents (AIDA). This comprehensive solution will be available to small, mid-sized, and large enterprises throughout Africa, with tailored benefits for regulated sectors such as finance, telecoms, and government.
Why It's Important?
This partnership is significant for African businesses as it addresses a critical vulnerability in cybersecurity: the human factor. As cyber threats become more sophisticated, employees often represent the weakest link in an organization's security posture. By providing access to KnowBe4's advanced security awareness training and risk management solutions, Liquid C2 is empowering African enterprises to build a more cyber-resilient workforce. This initiative is particularly crucial for regulated sectors like finance and government, where data breaches can have severe economic and societal consequences. The availability of local billing, regional support, onboarding, and compliance assistance tailored to industry needs will facilitate broader adoption and effectiveness. Strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure and human awareness across Africa can protect sensitive data, maintain business continuity, and foster greater trust in digital transactions, ultimately contributing to economic stability and growth in the region. This move also positions Liquid C2 as a key player in enhancing digital security capabilities on the continent.
What's Next?
Following the announcement, Liquid C2 will begin rolling out KnowBe4’s platform to its enterprise customers across Africa. The focus will be on integrating these new capabilities into existing cybersecurity frameworks and providing customized training experiences for staff at all levels. The partnership is expected to lead to increased adoption of security awareness training and phishing simulations among African businesses, particularly in regulated sectors. Liquid C2 plans to bundle KnowBe4 with its other services, including managed cybersecurity and Governance, Risk and Compliance offerings, to provide flexible and integrated solutions. KnowBe4 will continue to support its robust partner program to help organizations worldwide strengthen their workforce security. The success of this partnership will likely be measured by the reduction in human-related security incidents and the overall improvement in the cybersecurity posture of African enterprises. Both companies will likely monitor the impact and potentially expand their offerings based on market needs and evolving threat landscapes.
Beyond the Headlines
This collaboration highlights a growing global recognition of the importance of human-centric cybersecurity. Beyond technological safeguards, the ethical dimension of cybersecurity increasingly involves educating and empowering individuals to be proactive defenders against digital threats. The partnership also underscores the broader trend of digital transformation in Africa, where rapid technological adoption necessitates robust security measures to protect nascent digital economies. The integration of AI Defence Agents (AIDA) into KnowBe4's platform points to the evolving nature of cybersecurity, where artificial intelligence plays a dual role in both perpetrating and defending against attacks. This development could lead to a long-term shift in how African businesses approach digital risk, moving from a purely technical defense to a more holistic strategy that includes continuous human education and AI-powered threat intelligence. The initiative also has cultural implications, as it seeks to foster a security-conscious culture within diverse organizational environments across the continent.
