What's Happening?
Evoke International Design has completed a contemporary addition to a historic Shaughnessy estate in Vancouver. The design features floor-to-ceiling glazing that creates a seamless transition between the interior and the garden, using slender steel frames
to maintain sightlines. The addition respects the architectural heritage of the neighboring 1912 house while introducing modern elements. The interior design, a collaboration between Evoke, James McIntyre Interior Design, and the homeowners, incorporates soft whites, warm grays, and natural materials, allowing the garden to provide color. The landscape design by Tasha Sangha complements the architecture, integrating mature trees and layered plantings.
