Anthro Energy has commenced construction on a new factory in Louisville, Kentucky, designed to produce battery materials for over 300,000 electric vehicles. This facility, which aims to be a crucial component of the U.S. battery supply chain, is expected

The startup received substantial financial backing for this project, including a $24.9 million award from the Department of Energy under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and an additional $18.4 million in investment tax credits through the Inflation Reduction Act. The factory, slated to begin production in 2028, will initially manufacture a variety of electrolytes, with future plans to focus on Anthro's proprietary polymer product, Proteus.
