What's Happening?
Western Star Resources has commenced its 2026 exploration program at the White Star Tungsten Project in Nevada, USA. The program includes a high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) magnetic geophysical survey and a systematic soil geochemistry survey.
CEO Blake Morgan emphasized the strategic importance of integrating drone magnetic surveys with soil and rock chip programs to define drill targets. The White Star Project, located in the Charleston Mining District, has not seen exploration since the 1950s and shares a skarn setting with the Rowland Tungsten Project.
Why It's Important?
The use of drone geophysics represents a modern approach to mineral exploration, potentially increasing efficiency and accuracy in identifying drill targets. This initiative could accelerate the development of the White Star Tungsten Project, enhancing Western Star Resources' competitive edge in the mining sector. The project's historical tungsten production and strategic location within a skarn setting offer promising prospects for resource expansion. Successful exploration could lead to increased investment and interest in the company's operations, contributing to the broader economic development of the region.
